Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a bold initiative to establish a landmark Deep-Tech Centre in Amaravati. During a review meeting of the state’s IT Policy, he directed officials to formulate detailed proposals for constructing this iconic facility, which will focus on emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and advanced analytics.
Drawing inspiration from his earlier success in creating the Hi-Tech City in Hyderabad, a hub that positioned the city as a global IT destination, Naidu emphasized the need to embrace the next wave of technological advancements. “The opportunities emerging from Deep-Tech are enormous, and Andhra Pradesh must stay ahead in innovation,” he stated.
The proposal aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious IT and Start-Up Policy, which includes providing financial incentives for innovation. The state government has pledged seed funding of Rs 25 lakh for entrepreneurs from marginalized communities, including SCs, STs, BCs, minorities, and women, to foster equitable growth in the start-up ecosystem.
To further bolster innovation, five zonal hubs will be established across the state, including in North Andhra, Central Andhra, South Andhra, Godavari, and Rayalaseema. These hubs will be interconnected with the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub and 25 IITs, creating a robust network for research and collaboration.

Additionally, the state government plans to set up 10 lakh workstations by 2034, providing employment opportunities for youth. District collectors have been instructed to identify suitable lands for these workstations, aiming to equip the next generation with advanced skills.
To attract IT companies, the state has announced subsidies under three categories:
- Co-working spaces with a 100-seat capacity or office complexes over 10,000 square feet.
- Neighborhood working spaces with a 10-seat capacity or 1,000 square feet of office space.
- Companies with a minimum turnover of Rs 30 crore or at least 100 employees.
Human Resources and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has lauded this initiative, expressing confidence in its potential to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global innovation hub. With a clear roadmap and targeted investments, the state is poised to become a leader in Deep-Tech innovation and employment generation.
