I4C: A Unified Front Against Cybercrime

Established in 2018, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) is an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs designed to provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to tackle cybercrime. Dedicated to the nation on January 10, 2020, by Amit Shah, the I4C serves as a national nodal point for combating cybercrime and improving coordination between various law enforcement agencies and stakeholders.

The I4C has since made notable progress in enhancing India’s capabilities to fight cybercrime. Its key objectives include identifying cybercrime trends, preventing cybercrime, especially against women and children, and building capacity among police officers, public prosecutors, and judicial officers in cyber forensics and investigation.

By involving influential public figures like Amitabh Bachchan, the MHA aims to amplify the impact of its cybercrime awareness campaigns and encourage more citizens to actively participate in safeguarding themselves and the nation from online threats.

A United Fight Against Cyber Threats

With Amitabh Bachchan lending his voice to the government’s campaign, the initiative is expected to gain even more traction in spreading awareness about the risks of cybercrime. As cybercriminals evolve, public awareness and collaboration between law enforcement, private stakeholders, and citizens will be crucial in making India a cyber-secure nation.

For citizens, the message is clear: vigilance and precaution are essential in the digital age, and everyone can contribute to the collective fight against cyber threats.
