Chartered Accountant (CA) Hacked: FIR Registered for Compromised Credentials and Fraudulent GST Invoices

GREATER NOIDA: A Chartered Accountant has lodged a report at Beta-2 police station in Greater Noida, claiming that unknown criminals hacked into his email account. The hackers allegedly compromised the accounts of the companies he was managing, altering the login credentials by replacing them with their personal email IDs and phone numbers. Subsequently, the fraudsters issued fake GST invoices under the names of these companies, causing significant financial losses amounting to lakhs of rupees.

Inspector Vidyut Goyal of Beta-2 police station reported that Chartered Accountant Bheem Kumar, son of Ramkumar Soni, filed a complaint last night. Bheem Kumar, who operates a tax consultancy office in Jagat Farm, stated that his email account was hacked in December 2023 by unidentified individuals. The hackers also accessed the accounts of the companies managed by his firm, modified the data by inserting their personal contact information, and issued fraudulent GST invoices. This manipulation resulted in substantial financial losses for the affected companies. The police have registered the complaint and are currently investigating the matter. Additionally, they are examining why the Chartered Accountant delayed filing the report.
