Cyber Workshop At Noida International University: Real-Life Cyber Crime Cases Explained By Expert For Awareness

NOIDA: As part of training and awareness of young management and computer science students, Noida International University held a cyber awareness workshop for their students on Monday.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Vikram Singh, Chancellor NIU (Ex. DGP UP Police), Dr. Triveni Singh, SP Cyber Crime UP, Professor Manju Khari Jawahar Lal Nehru University Delhi, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Prasanjeet Kumar, Registrar Dr. Jayananad and Director and Dr. Harish Kumar Taluja.

Dr Vikram Singh who in past have headed the policing in Uttar Pradesh highlighted the importance of securing digital infrastructure and the growing need for young cyber professionals.

Speakers explained to the students about the new cybercrime trends, especially those happening on social media. Dr Triveni Singh explained different types of cybercrimes like – spamming, phishing, hacking,  theft, spreading viruses, software piracy, fake bank calls, rumour mongering,  cyberbullying, child pornography with real-life case studies.

Dr Singh also gave examples of corporate crime and told the students that they should adopt healthy cyber practices and look for solutions for security for the corporate and government once they get into the job.

Dr. Manju Khari addressed the students by giving out online safety and security tips. She explained how to avoid spamming and phishing mail.

The other dignitaries present in the workshop were Prof. Babar, Dr. Sujata Arora, Prof.  Madhusmita, Prof. Paritosh, Prof. Owoais, Dr. Pratibha Teotia.

As part of a global movement, October has been designated as the Cyber Security Awareness Month. Many nations educate their citizens on how to be safe online and the importance of cyber security.

The campaign serves as a reminder for everyone to take simple precautions to ensure their online safety. To combat data breaches and cybercrime, we must establish a true practice inside a business. We must remain vigilant against many forms of cyber dangers and how can we protect our crucial infrastructure.
