The ‘Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System’ has been instrumental in saving at least Rs 2,400 crore from cyber fraudsters, announced Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, during a parliamentary session. This system, part of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), enables immediate reporting and handling of financial cyber frauds through a dedicated helpline (1930) and an online portal.

Since its inception, the initiative has effectively handled over 7.6 lakh complaints, showcasing a robust response mechanism to financial cyber frauds. The system integrates law enforcement agencies, banks, financial intermediaries, and payment wallets to ensure quick and decisive actions against fraudulent activities. This coordinated approach has led to the interception and saving of significant amounts of money that would otherwise have been lost to cybercriminals.
