Join Webinar On Cyber Crime Forensics & A National Need for Indigenous Tools By C3iHub-IIT Kanpur

NEW DELHI: C3iHub, the technology innovation hub on cyber security at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) is organizing a webinar with the country’s top cyber experts to discuss the new digital challenges and other cybercrime landscape in India.

The webinar – Cyber Crime Forensics & A National Need for Indigenous Tools – aims at motivating young creators to explore innovative ideas and create indigenous tools in the field of cyber security. In view of the current cyber challenges and to explore future possibilities, these tools will be helpful in investigating a technical case or for cyber forensics. These tools can be extremely useful for law enforcement agencies and private companies in keeping a check on digital frauds and other cyber crimes.

Meet The Panelist:

Prof. Sandeep Shukla

Prof. Sandeep Shukla is an IEEE Fellow, ACM distinguished scientist and Subject Matter Expert in Cyber Security of cyber- physical systems and Blockchain Technology. He currently heads the Computer Science and Engineering Department at IIT Kanpur. A recipient of various prestigious honours, he serves as a Project Director for the C3I Center and the National Blockchain Project at IIT Kanpur. His research interests include Cyber Security of Critical Infrastructures, Cyber-Physical Systems, Blockchain.

He specializes in teaching, research, research supervision, project management, mentoring of students. He had done Ph.D., Uniform Approaches to Formal Verification of Finite State Systems, State University of New York, Albany, USA. Prof. Shukla is M.S. in Computer Science, State University of New York at Albany, 1995 and B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, 1991

Prof Triveni Singh, IPS is posted as Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime, Uttar Pradesh. His core task is to investigate complex cybercrime cases and provide administrative and technical supervision to 18 cyber crime police stations located at all commissionerates in Uttar Pradesh.

He is an expert in cracking complex cybercrime and financial fraud cases. He has wide exposure in investigating cases related to anti-corruption, vigilance, economic offences, money laundering and cybercrimes.

Prof Triveni Singh has been awarded Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) by the President of India. He is more popular as a Cyber Crime Investigation Specialist and is widely known as CyberCop of India. He has dealt with almost every type of cybercriminals and investigated more than 200 types of cybercrimes followed by arrests of thousands of criminals using an intensive technical investigation process. He is known for his expertise in handling financial and Banking frauds. He is also the resource person for various central investigation agencies and judicial bodies.

Anyesh Roy is currently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime Cell of Delhi Police. He and his unit specialise in handling all complex and sensitive cases of cybercrime including those in which victims are women and children.

Roy’s team has busted gangs of several online scammers including fake call centers duping foreigners in the US and Europe. His team has done several crackdowns across India to arrest several financial scammers and organized gangs of cybercriminals.

He has spearheaded the Cyber Crime Cell for the past couple of years which is now equipped with a state-of-the-art Cyber Lab having cyber forensic capabilities such as extraction of deleted data from Hard Disks and mobile phones, imaging and hash value calculation, forensic servers, portable forensic tools for on-site examination, facility to extract data from latest Android and iOS phones as well as Chinese phones.

Santosh Khadsare is an InfoSec and DFIR professional who specializes in Digital Forensics and is presently heading a Digital Forensic Lab in New Delhi.

He is B.E (Electronics and Telecommunications) and possesses additional qualifications such as CHFI, CEH, RHCSA, IVTA (CMU, Pittsburgh, USA), Advance Cyber Forensic Course (CDAC), Cyber Crime Investigator (CCI), Cyber Crime Intervention Officer (CCIO) and Access Data Certified Professional. Santosh was judged amongst the top three scholars during the MDI-ISAC National Cyber Security Scholar Program for the year 2020 and was awarded for the best innovative paper titled “The Role of Digital Forensics in Industry 4.0”.

He has 20+ years plus of rich experience in the field of Digital Forensics,  Cyber Laws, Information Security, Cyber Audit, and Incident Response. He is known in the digital forensics community for his experience, skillsets and mentorship qualities.

He has been a speaker at various national and international conferences. He has authored various articles on information security and Digital Forensics in national and international publications.
