Lucknow Socialite Dupes Women of Rs 2 Crore Through High-Profile Kitty Party Scam
LUCKNOW : A woman from Indira Nagar, Lucknow, has been accused of swindling crores of rupees from multiple women by pretending to host kitty parties and falsely claiming her husband was an IAS officer. Based on complaints from victims, police have registered an FIR against the accused, identified as Rashmi Singh.
How the Fraud Was Carried Out
According to reports, Rashmi targeted businesswomen’s wives and other women through her kitty party network. She gained their trust by befriending them, inviting them to her lavish home, and presenting small gifts to build credibility. Rashmi then persuaded them to invest in mutual funds or the kitty party, promising high returns, and eventually swindled large sums of money.
The Scam Uncovered
The scam came to light on March 24 when Rashmi herself filed a police complaint, alleging that some women had stolen blank checks from her home and were misusing them. However, during the investigation, it was revealed that Rashmi was the one orchestrating the fraud. The victims approached the DCP and lodged an FIR against her.
Rs 2 Crore Fraud with 10 Victims
Victims allege Rashmi duped approximately Rs 2 crore from 10 women. One victim revealed she was cheated of Rs 18 lakh, out of which only Rs 5 lakh was returned. When she demanded the remaining amount, Rashmi allegedly threatened her.
A Lavish Lifestyle and Social Media Presence
Rashmi lived in a posh villa in Bal Vihar Colony, equipped with CCTV cameras, and owned several luxury cars. She actively flaunted her high-profile lifestyle on social media to impress her targets.

Society Members Raise Concerns
Residents of her society, including Secretary Dinesh Pratap Singh Baghel, noted that Rashmi kept minimal interaction with neighbors. However, after complaints from several women about lost money, suspicions grew.
CCTV Footage Reveals Past Behavior
CCTV footage from the society captured Rashmi misbehaving with her guards, suggesting a history of questionable behavior. Indira Nagar ACP Aniruddh Vikram Singh confirmed that an FIR has been filed against her, and investigations are underway.
