‘Stop the Bargain Drama!’: Shamli Drug Inspector’s Bribe Warning Sparks Suspension
Drug Inspector Nidhi Pandey has been suspended after viral videos exposed her alleged bribery and threats to chemists in Shamli.

Government cracks down on corruption, investigates Shamli official’s actions.
The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended Shamli’s Drug Inspector Nidhi Pandey following viral videos that showed her allegedly threatening chemists and demanding bribes. The move came after a detailed report by the District Magistrate and under the government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
Allegations and Viral Videos
Two videos surfaced recently, causing public outrage. In one, Pandey is seen threatening a chemist with jail time while demanding money. Another video shows her coercing a shopkeeper to sign a plain paper acknowledging the sale of expired medicines, despite a lack of evidence.
Government Action
Taking immediate cognizance of the videos, the District Magistrate of Shamli investigated the matter and found the allegations credible. Following this, the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department issued an order suspending Nidhi Pandey. The case has now been referred to the Assistant Commissioner in Moradabad for further inquiry.
Longstanding Complaints
This is not the first controversy surrounding Nidhi Pandey. Chemist associations and local leaders have previously accused her of harassment and corruption. A petition demanding her transfer was submitted just weeks before the videos went viral.
Implications of the Incident
This case has highlighted the need for stricter oversight within regulatory bodies. The suspension sends a strong message about the government’s stance against misuse of authority and corruption. Further departmental actions are anticipated after the conclusion of the investigation.
