3. Hyderabad Woman Loses Rs 40,000 in Instagram Lehenga Scam
A Hyderabad woman, lost Rs 40,000 in a scam while ordering a discounted lehenga from an Instagram page. After paying Rs 1,000, the product didn’t arrive. Fraudsters, posing as representatives, tricked her into revealing account details, leading to the theft. Police are investigating the incident.
4. UP Man Arrested for Cyber Fraud in Kerala’s Kochi
A Kochi businessman lost Rs 10 lakh in an online fraud orchestrated by Uttar Pradesh’s 28 year old, who sent a fake Aadhaar update APK to access OTPs. Arrested in Greater Noida, police seized bank documents, luxury items, and evidence linking him to other frauds. Investigations continue.
5. 67 Indians Rescued from Cyber Scam Syndicates in Laos
The Indian Embassy in Laos rescued 67 Indian youths trafficked into cyber-scam centers in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone. Officials facilitated their safe exit and assured full support for their return to India. The Embassy warned job seekers against trafficking scams and urged vigilance when offered jobs abroad.
