She was deceived into paying increasing amounts, eventually realizing the fraud when asked to pay a commission to withdraw her earnings. Police are investigating.

2. ‘Operation Anti-Virus’ Targets Cybercriminals
In “Operation Anti-Virus,” Jaipur police targeted cybercriminals, demolishing four illegal shops in Mewat’s Baneni Dhokla village using bulldozers. A Rs 1.97 crore fraud involving fake stock market investment schemes has been uncovered in Himachal Pradesh, affecting Mandi, Bilaspur, and Kullu districts. Cybercriminals used social media to lure victims, escalating demands for additional investments. Police are investigating and urge victims to report incidents promptly to prevent further scams.

5. Pune Woman Defrauded of Rs 1.6 Crore by Cybercriminals Posing as National Security Threat
A 67-year-old Pune woman lost Rs 1.6 crore in a cyber scam after fraudsters posing as police and CBI officers claimed her phone number was involved in a national security threat. Intimidated by threats of arrest and asset seizure, she transferred her savings until she realized the scam and reporting it to the cybercrime police.


6. Dutch Military Intelligence Reports Chinese Cyber Espionage More Widespread Than Believed
Dutch military intelligence revealed that Chinese cyber espionage is more extensive than previously thought, targeting Western governments and defense companies. A Chinese hacking group, responsible for a 2023 attack on the Dutch defense ministry, has claimed at least 20,000 victims worldwide.
