Shillong, Meghalaya: In a first for India’s central armed police forces, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday inaugurated a Cyber Security Operations Centre at the Assam Rifles headquarters here. This high-tech facility marks a significant step in bolstering the force’s digital defences against a growing tide of cyber threats.

The newly inaugurated Cyber Security Operations Centre will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the Assam Rifles Wide Area Network (ARWAN) by providing real-time monitoring, mitigation of external threats, and prevention of cyber violations. A Wide Area Network is a computer network that spans a large geographical area, connecting offices and data centers in multiple locations.
