Whats Your Cyber Quotient? UP Police To Conduct Online CQ Exams for Cops

Lucknow: Taking an innovative step, the Uttar Pradesh police along with the NGO – Root64 Foundation is going to take a Cyber Quotient (CQ) Test of its workforce. The first-of-its-kind test will have a set of cybercrime, security and law-related questions which will help in assessing cyber awareness of UP police.

The one hour long CQ test is scheduled on December 5 where close to one thousand cops will sit for the online exam. All the examinee will get a link to the questionnaire and each test paper will be unique. The result will be shared instantly to individuals via WhatsApp.

“With rapid digitalisation, keeping a pace with the latest cyber tool is the need of the hour. It is a great initiative by Uttar Pradesh police to conduct a Cyber Quotient test. The test will bring out bright talent posted across the state and will also help in gauging who in force is prepared in dealing with such cases,” Amit Dubey, Chief Mentor, Root64 Foundation.

Explaining the purpose of this test Superintendent of Police cyber cell, Triveni Singh said, “This is quick and reliable way of finding out who all are IT friendly. This will help in accessing who all can be groomed and trained for cyber investigations. It will also give an insight to our awareness level and encourage policemen to learn about digital offence and investigation.”

The event is co-organised by Micro Finance Association of Uttar Pradesh (UPMA). Speaking about the initiative Sudhir Sinha, CEO, UPMA said the test will encourage policemen to check their awareness level and skill sets. The top 10 scorers will get appreciation certificate and a gift voucher.

The questionnaire has been uniquely designed from various topics like cyber forensic, cyber law, hacking, information security, telecommunication technology, internet technology etc. This will test cyber aptitude and investigation skill sets of examinee. The test has been customised keeping day to day cyber investigation and tools in mind.

Meanwhile, UP police said time and again updating the manpower is required. These tests will help in improving their cyber skill sets. It will also help in identifying those with deep cyber knowledge. This test is not mandatory but only for those who wish to appear. Close to 1,000 people have registered for the test.

With increasing cases of cybercrime and fraud, it has become extremely important for police to know attest threats and tools to deal with it.
