Faridabad Piracy Racket Busted: YuppTv Files Complaint Against Rhysley Ltd For Signal Stealing From Broadcasters

The Faridabad Police Department’s Cybercrime Unit busted a piracy ring and made a number of arrests for illegally downloading Premium Indian content around the world. After YuppTv filed a lawsuit, the unauthorised downloading of content was brought to light.

According to a statement from YuppTV, a complaint was filed against Rhysley Private Limited at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Faridabad for stealing signals from various Indian and foreign broadcasters, running back end operations such as box sales, tech support, and activation, and causing crores of losses to the entire industry.

Rhysley is a personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturer based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It also has a sales department and services section in New Delhi, India. Rhysley.org is a subsidiary of the Rhysley Group and is reportedly promoted by one Harpreet Randhawa.

The Cybercrime squad conducted raids at different locations, including the Rhysley India Manufacturing Unit and the Rhysley India Sales Office in Faridabad, based on the complaint. At the manufacturing plant, emails relating to the selling of illicit set-top boxes and premium Indian channels were discovered, as well as a 20-seater office in the cellar and ground floor were found, which appeared to have been specially used for sales, support, and NOC of the above-mentioned illegal IPTV set-top boxes were also found.

Six individuals have been arrested, including the main accused’s business partner and several key staff, and are being held in police custody while the investigation is still ongoing. On March 10, 2021, a FIR was filed as a result of this.

According to YuppTV, around 70-80% of key international markets have been infiltrated by pirates with more than 400 Indian and numerous international channels being illegally streamed in these regions, without paying any fees to Indian broadcasters. It further stated that if major pirates across the globe are shut down, it will open around $113 million for the industry.

Further investigation also found that the illegal set top box Boss IPTV uses various vendors such as DataCamp as the CDN provider, GoDaddy.com, Proxy, LLC, AllstreamCorp, Canada, and infomir.eu, according to a statement by YuppTV.

Boss IPTV is part of a group of pirate companies such as Tashan IPTV, Vois IPTV, Punjabi IPTV, Indian IPTV, Brampton IPTV, Boss Entertainment, and Guru IPTV who use the same chat provider, hosting provider, and IP address and illegally stream the broadcaster’s signal across the world.

This company is registered under the name of Harpreet Randhawa who has several other companies registered under his name including Server Center Limited, Chakde TV, VOIS, Tipsy Time, Tashan Iptv, 2144644 Alberta Ltd and Rhysley Couture Pvt Ltd renamed as Rhysley Private Limited.
