MUMBAI: In response to the escalating global cyber threat landscape, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has initiated a pivotal step to protect the integrity of India’s stock trading industry. Stockbrokers meeting specific criteria, particularly those with over 50,000 active traded clients and offering Internet-Based Trading platforms, have been called upon to onboard themselves onto the newly established ‘Cyber Swachhta Kendra’ (CSK) platform by November 6, 2023.
Responding to the Rising Wave of Cyber Attacks
The NSE, in a statement released on October 16, highlighted the increasing prevalence of cyber attacks across the world, underscoring the profound impact of these incidents on businesses and the compromise of sensitive data through malware infections at endpoint computing devices.
The statement read, “In recent times, there has been a surge in cyber-attacks in organizations across the globe impacting the continuity of their business operations and causing sensitive data leakage through malware infections at endpoint computing devices. To mitigate such malware and botnet infections, CERT-In has launched an initiative named ‘Cyber Swachhta Kendra’ (CSK), which provides information and enables organizations to disinfect the computing devices using free-of-cost malware and botnet cleaning tools.”
