The truth behind the viral message:

A fact check by The420 shows KBC has not only any random lottery and it is a hoax. Every year scammers cash on the popularity of the show by sending messages or making call of people claiming that they have won the lottery. These scammers change the format of their modus-operandi slightly and start sending messages to random targets.

Earlier this year an 18-year-old girl and her mother fell prey to a similar gang and lost Rs. 1.45 lakh to the online scam. Daughter received a voice call on WhatsApp from an unknown caller who claimed to be a representative of the KBC show.

This year Delhi Police arrested three people involved in a similar kind of scam.
