NEW YORK: In a startling revelation, research psychologist Dr. Robert Epstein has brought attention to Google’s alarming manipulation of newsfeeds, search results, and YouTube suggestions. Despite the focus on Twitter and Facebook’s censorship and biases, Google, the worst offender among Big Tech giants, has managed to evade scrutiny, but now it seems the tech giant has set its sights on our children.
Dr. Epstein, a Californian Democrat with a Ph.D. from Harvard, has spent the past decade closely monitoring Google’s actions. During his recent visit to New York to raise funds for his ongoing project, he shared his latest research with The Post, shedding light on Google’s ability to shape public opinion and influence elections to align with its liberal corporate worldview.
Epstein’s research demonstrates that Google possesses the capability to sway minds and even shift election results. In the 2020 election alone, he estimates that Google manipulated search results to shift approximately 6 million votes in favor of Joe Biden. Through biased algorithms, Google skewed search results to present positive links for Biden and negative links for Trump. Additionally, the tech giant utilized its home page to promote Get Out The Vote messages targeted primarily at Democrat voters.
Preliminary findings from Epstein’s current project, which focuses on how Google’s vast psychological operations (psy-ops) affect children through YouTube and other products, indicate an even more pervasive liberal bias. For adults, YouTube’s “Up Next” video suggestions were biased toward liberal sources 76% of the time. Shockingly, this figure soared to 96% when considering videos recommended to children and teenagers.
Epstein emphasizes the aggressive nature of Google’s targeting of children, stating, “Because they think they’re gods. And no one has ever taken them to task, ever.” While he hasn’t evaluated the specific content of the suggested videos, he used rankings from nonpartisan organizations to assign liberal, conservative, or centrist labels to the sources.
The problem lies in the ephemeral nature of Google’s search results and YouTube suggestions. Once a user clicks on a link, the results or suggestions vanish, making it impossible to catch Google in the act. However, Epstein has developed a method to capture this ephemeral data. Through a panel of registered voters and children, he monitors and records their Google interactions, similar to how Nielsen monitors TV ratings. With plans to expand his panel to over 25,000 field agents of all ages and political affiliations, Epstein aims to expose Google’s actions through a public dashboard called americasdigitalshield.org, scheduled to go live later this year, just in time for the 2024 election.
The dashboard will provide real-time data collected from field agents across the country, tracking bias on Google, YouTube, Facebook, and Bing. It will also estimate the number of votes that could be shifted based on the level of bias detected. Epstein suggests that moderate Republicans are the most vulnerable to having their minds influenced.
Google has repeatedly denied any manipulation or bias in its products. However, the company’s motives and leanings have come under scrutiny. Employees of Google, YouTube, and Alphabet’s subsidiaries donated 94% of their political contributions to Democrats in 2016. Eric Schmidt, Google’s former CEO, played a significant role in Hillary Clinton’s campaign, while a leaked video showcased Google executives lamenting Trump’s victory and expressing a desire to influence future elections.
Leaked emails have also revealed Google’s involvement in get-out-the-vote efforts and discussions on tweaking search functions to alter public perception. While Google claimed it did not follow through with certain plans, its monomaniacally liberal culture and previous interventions in elections raise concerns about the 2024 election.
Dr. Robert Epstein remains the key figure standing in the way of Google’s unchecked influence. By exposing Google’s actions, he aims to safeguard the integrity of elections and protect the impressionable minds of children from manipulation by the tech giant.
