NEW DELHI: Aadhaar is one of the most important documents that the Indian government gives to its people. Everyone who lives in the country needs an Aadhaar card. Anyone can sign up for it, from a baby to an old person.
Aadhaar cards can be used to get into a number of services and programmes run by the government. Important personal information like fingerprints, iris, and face images are also on the card.
As data privacy and security concerns grow, it’s more important than ever to ensure that your data, especially your biometrics, are safe on your Aadhaar card. These details can be used wrongly by people who want to break security or commit fraud.
Because Aadhaar biometric information is so important, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made it easy for people to lock and unlock it.
Once you lock biometric data, the person with the Aadhaar card won’t be able to use those details to prove who they are. If someone tries to use any authentication service with an Aadhaar card while the biometrics are locked, they will get an error code 330 that says they can’t get to their biometric information.
