How do I use the UIDAI website to lock my Aadhaar biometrics?

Follow the steps below to lock your Aadhaar biometric detail:

Step 1: Go to uidai.gov.in, which is the UIDAI’s official website.

Step 2: Go to My Aadhaar under Aadhaar Services on the homepage and click on Lock/Unlock Biometrics.

Step 3: Now check the box and click the “Lock/Unlock Biometrics” button.

Step 4: Enter your 12-digit unique Aadhaar number and a captcha verification code. After that, choose Send OTP.

Step 5: Type in the OTP you got on the phone number you gave when you signed up, and then log in.

Step 6: Click Lock/Unlock Biometrics and then click Confirm.

Step 7: All of your biometrics will be locked.

The following steps can be taken to unlock Aadhaar biometrics:

Step 1: Go to uidai.gov.in, which is the official website.

Step 2: From the “My Aadhaar” drop-down menu on the homepage, choose “Lock/Unlock Biometrics.”

Step 3: Check the box that says “I declare,” then click “Lock/Unlock Biometrics.”

Step 4: Type in your Aadhaar number and the code that looks like a picture of a person.

Step 5: Click “Get OTP” and enter the code to turn on your biometrics.

Step 6: The biometrics of your Aadhaar card will be unlocked.
